The Raya Legacy

From the empire of Sri Krishnadevaraya to a modern house of enterprise: the legacy the Group is named for, and the standard it carries into every company it builds.

Our inspiration

Inspired by the vision, leadership and values of the Raya Empire.

The Group takes its standard from a lineage of sovereigns and statesmen, and carries it into enterprise: authority exercised with responsibility, and leadership measured by what it leaves behind.

Legacy, built rather than inherited

The standard

Four duties of a sovereign, five centuries old.

“A king should improve the harbours of his country and so encourage its commerce that horses, elephants, precious gems, sandalwood, pearls and other articles are freely imported.”

Sri Krishnadevaraya · Amuktamalyada, on the duties of a ruler

In the Amuktamalyada, the sovereign of Vijayanagara set down what a ruler owes his realm: commerce to be encouraged, waters to be harnessed, the learned to be honoured and counsel to be kept. Ankem Group claims no crown. It holds itself to his standard, and each of its houses answers to one of his duties.

The legacy

From an empire of builders to a house of enterprise.

Six centuries separate the Raya Empire from the House of Ankem. The conviction that joins them has not changed: that a reign is measured by the wells it dug and the schools it opened.
